Just in case, here is a link to the Kalashnikova.

"Yuss my friends, yuss! Buy me AK and I one tap the infected scum!"

AK-47 stands for Russian Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947 (Автомат Калашникова 1947 or Automatic Kalashnikov 1947).

Can be considered a faster M1A1 Thompson.

Having virtually the same DPS, this weapon is great at tearing through hordes — and a good sized amount of ammo. Like other weapons in the series, you will shred through your ammo. Aim for headshots, hit your shots, and you'll be fine.

Try to keep in mind that if soldiers used this weapon against intelligent beings, using it against brain-dead corpses are probably going to be one of your best bets.

Background Story

With success, comes knock-offs.

This fact was no different with L-Brain Sidework. After the recall and retirement of the Kalashnikova, multiple companies sprung forwards with their own version to cash in. Dismissing it as a one-time thing, they turned to work on new products.

Unfortunately, their sales started to dwindle. When they looked into this issue, it was discovered with every weapon they released, four more companies quickly released their own take on it. People couldn't tell the difference between what was an actual product and what was a cash grab, and their entire reputation was in doubt.

They took a step back. What was it that made people trust them?

Deciding that the future needed them more than ever, plans for a brand new Kalashnikova were drafted. This time, with a brand new name.

  • The AK-47 has a high rate of fire with low damage.
    • Try to aim for as many headshots as possible.
      • You can rip through a Brute as long as you land your shots.
  • Have a reliable secondary if you run out of your ammunition quickly.
  • At long range, it is best to tap fire or to shoot in small bursts.
    • 3-5 bullet bursts are good.
  • When fighting a boss, it is better to use M1A1 Thompson as you do more total damage per mag and for the entirety of your ammunition.
  • While ADS'ing, the gun has some vertical recoil.
    • You have to compensate for this by pulling down while firing.

  • This is the sixth weapon to return from R2D 2014.
    • This was the first weapon that was removed to be re-added.
    • Technically, that makes it the first weapon to return from R2D 2014.
  • The same firing sound is used in the Remington 700 and the Dragunov, but it's set louder than the both of them.
  • This gun can be considered a faster version of the M1A1 Thompson.
  • The gun is expensive due to real AK-47s with milled receivers, like the one represented in R2DA are very rare to come by and are only manufactured in 5 countries.
    • This could also explain why the Kalashnikova from DEMO was very cheap, since it was based off the AKM that is cheaper to manufacture and is a kilogram lighter than the AK-47.
  • The Baseball Bat or Rambo Knife may be ideal to bring.
  • The AK-47 actually carries 30 rounds in real life, but has 35 in R2DA to compensate the low damage on the gun.
    • The 7.62x39mm calibre bullets used in real life are actually pretty strong as they're thick for their short length.
    • It is also the most common firearm in the world, with approximately 100 million out of the estimated 500 million in the world being a Kalashnikov.
